The Arson Task Force would like to invite all West Midlands teachers and their students to a free theatre production for schools called Sparx!™ in June 2006. It is aimed at Year 8 but is also available and appropriate for Years 6, 7, 9 and 10. In addition to the theatre production a free follow-up work package is provided to groups who attend. This includes worksheets and activities for Maths, Literacy, Science, Citizenship, PSHE and Drama. This will be sent to schools prior to the theatre trip. |
The prodcution is designed to raise awareness of the dangers and consequences of arson and playing with fire.
| It covers a number of other issues including peer pressure and bullying, and is compatible with the requirements of PSHE, Citizenship and Drama within the National Curriculum. It also fulfils criteria to gain the National Healthy Schools Standard in that it ‘involves professionals from appropriate external agencies'. |
