Birmingham Community Safety Partnership uses a Business Planning Model in delivering its community safety objectives as laid out in the Community Safety Strategy. A key component of this business planning process is the need for decision-making to be evidence based. This is achieved through an Information and Intelligence Team who provide analytical support to the Community Safety Partnership. The team was set up in 2004/05 and consists of a Manager and four Partnership Analysts.
The Information & Intelligence Team provide dedicated support to the Partnership and have a number of key deliverables:
• Annual Strategic Assessments for the City
• Performance Management reporting to BCSP, Birmingham Police Commanders, Constituency Directors and GOWM
• Development and running of COSMOS, a web based community safety performance management, scanning and mapping tool
• Support to the City's 6 Pan-Birmingham Priority Groups and 10 Local Delivery Groups (LDGs)
The Information and Intelligence Team is a vital component of the Partnership Business Process and helps to deliver a clearer more evidence based approach to tackling community safety in Birmingham.
