One Edgbaston Partnership (OEP)

Within the four wards are substantially different levels of deprivation but the Edgbaston Constituency Executive Board are actively committed to reducing crime & the fear of crime across the wards & tackling Anti-Social Behaviour. It acknowledges that Anti-Social Behaviour can bring misery & concern to individuals & communities alike who are suffering.

In addition, a clean & green environment is a key factor in determining the quality of life in a neighbourhood. Overall, a poorly maintained physical environment is a key driver in area deprivation. There are also strong links to the community safety agenda. Dealing with the fear of crime has become as important as dealing with crime itself. Issues such as rubbish, graffiti, abandoned vehicles and fly-posting send out a message that an area is not safe, undesirable to reside in, perpetuating a spiral of decline. Edgbaston Constituency recognizes the importance of this message and is determined to tackle crime & grime through its `Lets Get It Sorted Campaign'.
