The West Midlands Fire Service is a Metropolitan Fire Brigade, which functions under the control of the West Midlands Fire and Rescue Authority. The West Midlands Fire Service seeks to reduce fires, fire-related deaths and injuries. This is undertaken through the effective enforcement of Fire Safety Legislation and through the proactive promotion of Fire Safety awareness within the community it serves. It is a core part of the West Midlands Fire Service’s vision to make the West Midlands safer from the threat of fire. Covering the county area of the West Midlands Region, the Brigade Area serves the seven Metropolitan districts. The Brigade is run under the command of the Chief Fire Officer and his principal command team, and provides emergency response from strategically located fire stations. |
The West Midlands Fire Service is also committed to partnership working to achieve its aims, targets and objectives and those of related agencies.
